Design Project of Car Charger

A Car charger, which is conventionally used for power supply of vehicle battery(car:12V;truck:24V),has been widely applied to lithium battery of various portable and handheld devices, such as mobile phone, PDA, GPS, to name but a few.

It is necessary for people to pay attention to the actual demand of lithium battery, that is, constant voltage (CV), constant current (CC), and over-voltage protection (OVP); in addition, people also need to take consideration of a variety of tough conditions with which a car battery must be confronted, such as transient rush voltage, noise disturbance of car system with startup and shutdown, EMI etc.

Therefore, power management IC applied to a car charger design project must be contended with the following specification: a switch power chip with high voltage withstands high efficiency, high reliability, and low frequency (favorable for the design of EMI).
